I am now pledging that for the next week, I will not touch Facebook… Twitter… or anytype of technology that will distract me from my self evolution.
Has technology deprived people in the U.S. of creativity?
Over the course of these past few weeks, I have stumbled upon a few new ideas and aspects on pretty much everything. Initially I wanted to argue that technology does deprive us of creativity (which I still believe it does), but now I feel as if everything in our society and world is a limitation on our creativity. Not because they aren’t good ideas or creations, but because we always just accept things the way they are, or create based off of another persons creation. This may not be bad, but there is so much more to creation.
The Internet allows us to share said ideas, but since people have the mind set of taking in information and leaving it be, I feel as if we can really never move to where we want to be. I think the limit on our creativity is actually the way we think. If we didn’t let social norms and other types of distractions take us away from each and every one of our brains’ creativity, we would be in an entirely different place. If when we are young, we are taught you can create anything with your mind if you believe it and take action upon it, shit would be different!
Now you might see this as only the media pushing a topic that should be entirely irrelevant to the news and things that people truly care about, now add the fact that many kids and teens heard that news, and in hearing that 50 Cent’s Blackberry missing is like the world ending for him, how will they feel when they lose theirs? They will be devastated instead of not caring that much, since its really just a damn phone. And whats the next step, buying a new one. Score for Blackberry.
Learning and technology, two things people can now say are constants in our day and age, but is technology suffocating our true ability to learn?
How do media affect social norms in the U.S.? (Be clear about what type(s) of media you are referring to.)
Is technology really making us smarter?
Does technology really affect our ability to learn?

Would people learn better if they depended less on the Internet?
